Colourist and Flame Artist
After graduating from Sheridan College, Hardave began his career in music video production, gaining hands-on experience across various stages of the production process. After one year in production, he transitioned into post-production, where he discovered an aptitude for high-end finishing and joined a post house as a Flame assistant.
Following a year assisting on Autodesk Flame, Hardave advanced into a colorist role. Over the next four years he refined his craft, developing a strong technical foundation and a keen aesthetic sensibility for color grading and image finishing. During this period he collaborated closely with directors, cinematographers, producers, and other creative professionals to deliver polished, cinematic imagery for short-form and long-form projects.
Subsequently, Hardave moved into freelance work, expanding his practice to encompass both color grading and visual effects. He regularly works in Autodesk Flame, The Foundry’s Nuke, and Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve, applying a combination of technical precision and creative judgment to produce high-end visuals for film and television. His collaborative approach and cross-disciplinary expertise enable him to translate creative intent into refined, broadcast-ready imagery.
